TROOP 204 NEWSLETTER JANUARY 2006
Hope everyone has enjoyed their holiday season and are looking forward to 2006. Im sure June will be here before we know it. So it is time to start thinking about the cookie sale and activities for the rest of the year. So far it has been a little challenging planning troop activities. At our parents meeting in September everyone was excited about going to Washington in December to see the Christmas lights. Out of the 22 girls, only 9 signed up to go and when it actually came down to the trip, 6 girls went. At one of our first meetings, we asked all of the girls what they wanted to do in Brownies this year. Many said that they would like to go camping but only 10 girls went with us in October. When I put out sign up sheets, about half never even check yes or no so I dont know if they have seen it or just not made a decision. With 22 girls in the troop, I dont have time to call everyone. I do have a reminder notebook available at every troop meeting and Bill Sinclair has done a fantastic job with our troop website and posting the calendar and other reminders. Im not sure if it is my timing or lack of interest from the girls or parents. When I ask for suggestions for dates or activities that girls are interested in, I dont usually get a lot of response so I have picked dates or activities that have suited my schedule (I do work, including weekends, and I have a Cadette troop as well as the Brownie troop to juggle). Attached is a list of upcoming area and council events. Please check any things that you and your daughter are interested in participating in and return it by our January 3 meeting. We will try and participate in things that there is a lot of interest in. Hopefully things will go better in the new year. For now here are things that are coming up:

So for future events, girls will not be registered for events without full payment by registration deadline. Girls who show up will either receive a refund or credit for future activities. Girls who cancel after fees are paid or supplies bought will not receive a refund.
